Di Jiang is one of the ancient deities in Chinese mythology which from the ‘Classic of Mountains and Seas’. In this context, he is described as "a yellow sack-like physique with a red aura of cinnabar, encompassing an emptiness like the cosmos. It has six legs and four wings, but no eyes or facial features of any kind, indicating directionless movement. It lives in a perpetual state of confusion and causes chaos wherever it goes. It's said to be fond of singing and dancing." The idea of my bust is a feather-picked Di Jiang who escaped from a group of greedy humans' imprisonment. One reason I choose to make it is that it is just like the youngest adults nowadays, who play the responsible roles they need to, but they want to, and also enjoy their lives playing music and dancing in the chaos. The cage that Di Jiang escapes is like the rejection of conventional life by the young people to break up. Another reason is I want this project to show Chinese mythology culture to the world, to let the world be interested in knowing Eastern culture to know about it. I want to through this project consolidate the skills I have right now and learn more new skills during processing.
